Super excited to have won a 2018 NZIA Local Branch award in the Residential category for our Hill House!!!

"Like a jewellery box, robust with natural materials on the outside, and gem-like in its interior colours, luxurious fittings and dramatic lighting, this house is exuberant and larger than life. Consistent and rigorous detailing and geometry are strengths of the house, as is the manner in which the architects have pushed the site to the limit to do justice to the ridge-top location and panoramic views. The central axis frames views of Te Mata Peak to the south and Napier Quay to the north and orders the interior, in which beams and columns of substantial concrete are on display, and contrast with vibrant colour. The expanses of open interior space, generous covered cantilevered decks and well-equipped sheltered outdoor spaces, make living a breeze."

The Finishing Touches by TESS FENWICK

The screens have arrived and are currently being installed.  The custom NYC street map reflects the clients love of Manhattan.  In summer the map will be cast onto the floor in the morning sun.

The master bathroom tiling has now been completed and the tilers' are moving quickly throughout the house.  The wardrobe units have been installed and the electrician is wiring to them now.  The Level 3 deck tiles are in place.  They sit on a deck jack system which allows any water to drain through the negative and move away underneath the tiles.  Any furniture on the tiles can then sit level.

The central stair wall has been plastered, the underfloor heating cables are being laid and the lighting is starting to be installed. Next weeks the scaffolding on the eastern façade will come down.

Settling into the Neighbourhood by TESS FENWICK

Gib board is currently being fixed and stopped while Kepka's have started on the cedar ceiling in the axis.  The vertical cedar garage door has been installed and the Symonite fascias are nearing completion.  Landscaping (by South Pacific Landscapes) has begun ... watch how the house settles into the surrounding neighbourhood.
